People often wonder, or get upset about how we adopt the majority of our cats to indoor only homes and why we refuse to adopt out kittens as barn cats. This is Gingerbread. She was found frozen to metal outside yesterday. Frozen. They needed to use a hammer to break her free. Both hind feet are completely and utterly frostbitten - she's just a baby. Hopefully, with meds and painkillers, we can save her.

Merry Christmas and have a wonderful new year - we wish you the best! This year we have adopted out over 290 animals into new homes and helped reunite over 130 cats and dogs with their families when they went missing. When support for an ill, injured, or abused animal was needed, funds for medical care was able to be raised in mere hours for each incident. We want to give everyone a HUGE thank you for your ongoing support. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! We couldn't do it without you.

These four, 8 week old babies were found in a dumpster last week.. And since then, 3 of them (all but the Grey+white girl) have adoptions pending on them! This why we do what we do. From unloved, unwanted and thrown away to endless love, happiness and forever homes - these kittens have had their lives turned around.

Hi, I'm Bonny! You can read my story here: http://bapsociety.blogspot.ca/2012/08/hi-im-bonny.html . I am super sweet and snuggly! I am great with other dogs ( I am currently being fostered with two dogs ). I am very outgoing and friendly. My foster mom says I am a really smart girl who is learning her manners, housetraining, obedience and leash skills really fast! I am also awesome when crated.
I am currently still recovering from Parvo but I am ready for my new home! I am still in a mini quarantine (You can call BAPS to ask more about it at 403-362-4323) but I am fine to be with other vaccinated dogs. Please give me the perfect forever home I deserve.
BAPS (The Brooks Animal Protection Society) has many wonderful, friendly (and not so friendly) barn cats looking for work! They promise to hunt vermin as long as you provide them with food, water and a warm place to sleep. All of them are spayed or neutered and have a microchip / tattoo all for just a $20 donation. For more information, call BAPS at 403-362-4323.

Bonny
Hi! I'm Bonny.. I was recently seized by authorities and brought to Brooks Animal Protection Society. I am a very sweet, cuddly girl. I am only four months old.
The girls noticed that I was not feeling well at all the day I was going to be released to my owner and took me to the vet where it was confirmed that I have Parvo.
BAPS called my 'mom' to tell her about the parvo. She knew I was at the vet and she was supposed to call them. The vet and I waited allll day and she wouldn't call or answer her phone. I was abandoned because I'm sick! The BAPS girls even told my mom she could surrender me so they could start treatment on me :(
Luckily the girls at BAPS are trying to fund raise to save my life now that I am officially a BAPS dog! They need $1200.. Yikes! I thought I would ask around and see if they can get some help with the bill. To donate you can use paypal (http://www.bapsociety.com/Donations.html ), mail (Box 86, Brooks, AB, T1R 1B2 ) or make a donation in person ( 415 1st Avenue East, Brooks, AB). Thank you for helping to save my life! - Bonny
We raised the money for the surgery!

This wonderful young lady, Maisy, asked all of her friends to bring money for BAPS to her birthday party instead of present for herself. Thank you so much for thinking of the animals, Maisy!

Sunshine
Sad news.. Sunshine has cancer and she doesn't have much time left in her little life. Good news.. She is ADOPTED! The only thing is that she can't go home until July. (For the moment, she is on a lot of meds). Sunshine is in need of a foster home until she can go to her new home. The best thing about fostering her is that you get to do a good thing and you don't have to worry about wanting to keep her! :) For more information, please call BAPS at 403-362-4323.

March 25, 2012
On April 25, 2012 BAPS rescued 5 dogs and a cat from a bad situation. Here are their photos and stories.
Lolly (Left, female) and Pops (right), Cocker Spaniel / Poodle Crosses are happy, sweet puppies who were living in the same conditions as their mother. It took us nearly 30 minutes to find them hidden in the room.
. Lucky Penny, a poodle, was living outside in a dog run with another dog. There were few places they could escape from the feces covering the pen. LP was rated a 3.5/9 body score. He suffered from extreme matting, severe gingivitis and oral pain.
Sunshine was living outdoors in an extremely small dog run, she too had no escape from the fecal matter in her pen. Sunshine suffered from severe matting which led to ulcerating sores on her body and severe dental disease.
Lesley was locked upstairs in a closet, with no light, windows, human interaction or escape from his fecal matter. He is attention starved and full of love.
These animals require ~$2000 worth of medical care. To donate towards their care, please follow the following link: http://www.bapsociety.com/Donations.html . You can also make a donation in person or mail.
And YES! They are up for adoption!
