BAPS is looking for some very special foster homes. Kitten season is soon upon us and we are looking for very special people who can love and commit to the huge amount of work required to raise orphaned kittens. We are looking for foster homes interested in caring for orphans of different age levels. Orphans enter our care at all age levels.
Here is some more information on the different level of care the various ages of kittens will need:
0-2 weeks old: Bottle feedings every 1-2 hours. This age of orphan requires immense amount of care and commitment. They can not go to the bathroom on their own and will need to be stimulated. Foster homes must be able to have the kittens with them all the time)
2-4 weeks old: Bottle feedings every 2-4 hours. This age of orphan still requires a great amount of work, Around the 4 week mark they will start to be able to use the bathroom on their own and can start their litter box training – though will still require stimulation. Foster homes must be able to have the kittens with them most of the time.
4-6 weeks old: Feedings every 4 hours. Kittens still get milk but can start to learn to drink from bowls and begin being weaned over to ‘kitten mush’. Kittens begin to need less constant care. They likely will be / will soon be litter box trained and will no longer need stimulation. Foster Homes must be able to come home from work / school to feed them at lunch time.
6-8 weeks old: Feedings every 4-6 hours. Kittens should have been weaned over to kitten mush. Orphans require much less care at this age and should be litter box trained. Feeding times and requirements vary.

BAPS provides all food and items needed to raise orphaned kittens. If you are interested in volunteering to help save the lives of these little infants, please email us at info@bapsociety.com or private message us.
