Gertie Came in to us March 2012. She was found on the side of a high way, barely able to walk, unable to use one leg, full of sores, emaciated and had missing hair. She was quickly taken into the vet and received much needed medical care. While getting X-rays, the vet discovered many tumors. Gertie was only given a few months to live.

In April, after getting an overwhelming response of people willing to give her a home for the last short while of her life, she found the perfect home.

Well, it has been 10 months, and Gertie has completely turned into a different dog. She has great energy, no more mobility issues, and plays, plays, plays! We think she will have years with her forever family.

"Beatrix (Gertie) is doing great! We really turned a corner with the two dogs in November and they play and even wrestle everyday! She is learning to wrestle like a Mastiff and he like a Bull Terrier! They are a hilarious pair! Physically she looks and is feeling great! We have not done any surgeries with her just feeding her great food and lots of supplements and her coat and skin look great! She's a very happy dog! My son Ryder absolutely adores her and she him...she just loves to cuddle!

Hope this finds everyone at BAPS doing well!"
