Noreen Sutherland

It is with a heavy heart that way say goodbye to Noreen Sutherland, a wonderful woman who passed away yesterday.
Noreen was a truly amazing woman who was involved with the shelter for many years, as both our Shelter Manager and Animal Control Officer. She had a heart of gold and spent many volunteer hours rescuing, rehabilitating and loving animals. She was an amazing friend, mother, grandma, sister and wife. She will be missed by all.
She positively affected the live of many animals and people alike, never refusing a plea for help. From staying up to the wee hours of the morning bottle feeding kittens to crawling in bushes to save injured dogs; Noreen would never give up. It because of her that hundreds of animals went on to find their forever homes.
Noreen was a rescue angel while she was living and I know she's a guardian angel for them in heaven.

  1. We were so sorry to hear of Noreen's passing. We were very touched, and blessed by meeting Noreen when we adopted our little man Finnigan. (puppy aka Kirby). At her request we have continued to correspond with her over the past two years, and have been touched by her concern and interest in Finns progress. We wish to express our condolences to her loved ones and to the staff at BAPS, we know you have lost a very dedicated and loving friend and collegue.
    With saddened hearts:
    Jo, Christina & Finnigan
