Roxi Roller, Benjamin and Memphis.

Today we had three dogs transferred to us with the help of ARTS (Animal Rescue Transfer System) from various

Roxi Roller
Roxi Roller is a one year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross. She is super sweet, gets along with most dogs and LOVES everyone. She gives big kisses and snuggles.

Benjamin
Ben is a young Husky Cross. His nickname is Velcro - and for good reason! He is very affectionate and loves to be near you. He'll snuggle right into you. He even knows a few tricks like sit, and shake-a-paw.

Memphis

Memphis is a six year old German Shepherd. He's mellow, gentle and very people orientated. He gets along with most dogs and likes to play. He has an awesome disposition and knows his basic commands.

Keep an eye out for updates on these beautiful dogs!

Jasmine

Meet Jasmine!

Jasmine is a one year old Shepherd cross who was transferred to us from Lethbridge. She is very sweet and gentle, but at this moment it takes her a little time to adjust to strangers. In the three days she's been here, Jasmine has made excellent progress and is coming out of her shell.

Once she does warm up to, she's stuck to you like glue. She can be very affectionate and loves to be pet and cuddled. Soon she shall be getting a much needed bath and groom. Keep an eye on the site for more updates on this beautiful girl!

Winslow

Back on March 26, we responded to a phone call regarding a mother cat (Tei), her sister(Jade) and three kittens. Tei and Jade had been found in a box and once the family got them home, Tei went into labor.
She gave birth to three of the tiniest kittens we had ever seen - and only one was not still born. Tei, the mother, did not have even have milk developed yet and had no idea what to do with this little meowing thing.
Against all odds, Winslow was alive (And very premature!) once we went to rescue them.

At only half a day old, Winslow was about the length of a thumb and very fragile. But boy, was he a fighter! He was full of life and spunk and had no problem letting you know if he had an issue. Winslow had to be bottle fed every hour for the first month and a half.

Against all odds, Winslow lived. There were many close calls (Infections, undeveloped internal organs) but he fought through all of them.

Above, Winslow 4 weeks old

Winnie was very behind on his development, often weeks behind. All good things come in time though, right?
Winslow is a fighter. He's now 8 weeks old, eating soft food, running, playing and is still full of spunk.

He's itty bitty, but don't let his size fool you - he can take on anyone!

Winslow is not yet available for adoption but we hope that soon he'll be healthy enough to find his furrever home. He's still too little to be vaccinated and undergo adoption procedures. Because Winnie was never able to nurse off of his mother, he may have a compromised immune system for the rest of his life.

Mowgli.

Update on Mowgli!

*We Currently are in need of a Foster Home for Mowgli - Please call us at (403)362-4323 or email us at info@bapsociety.com if you can help out*

Mowgli had gone into foster a few weeks ago when a volunteer/Dog Behaviorist had come in and fell in love - She decided he needed a better chance to settle in so she took him home. Here is what she had to say on him:

Currently Mowgli is in a foster home learning how to trust people again. Mowgli is a wonderful dog as long as he has another dog with him. An ideal home for him, is a home that already has a trained, playful dog.

With another dog Mowgli is 100% potty trained, he knows his basic commands, he is perfect on a leash, and great with cats and other dogs, he is playful and snuggly - the perfect dog. He is shy around new people, but will warm up after spending some time with him. However - without another dog Mowgli is very afraid, and has almost no confidence. He will hide away, have accidents in the house, shake when people come near him, and he will not listen to commands

Mowgli desperately needs a dog 'mentor', and his owner must have lots of patience, and a firm, but gentle method of training. Mowgli loves to chew on bones and bully sticks, he is learning how to play fetch, and he enjoys toys that squeak. He also enjoys running behind you when you are rollerblading! Once he warms up to you, he will follow you around the house, and give you lots of kisses and snuggles.

Mowgli is a 5 month old Shepherd cross he was transferred to us from another shelter with his brother, Baloo. They had been brought to the other shelter when they were around eight weeks old. Two workers at a dump had witnessed them being abandoned with the trash and rescued them.
